Struck me tonight, how many people have played the First Doctor (I mean significantly, not just stunt doubles...)
William Hartnell, obviously.
Edmund Warwick as his double, but significantly (and weirdly at times) in The Chase as the Robot Double
Richard Hurndall in Five Doctors
David Bradley in An Adventure in Time and Space
Do we think it's significant that he seems the most easily re-castable? Anything to do with Hartnell passing away before organised fandom, and so missing the convention days?
