Of course, Doctor Who isn't the only TV show missing episodes - and we're lucky to have soundtracks for everything and pictures for *almost* everything.
Many other TV shows are far, far worse off than Doctor Who, and few returns are celebrated in comparison.
Is this unfair? Or would it be fair to say that Doctor Who missing episodes deserve the most coverage because of the fan base, and that they only support the cause for other shows?
Certainly at Missing Believed Wiped, a lot of the non-Who stuff was hilariously or worryingly bad - Emergency Ward 9, for all it's historical importance, probably wouldn't be broadcastable.
Dad's Army and The Avengers are I think the only shows that have seen celebrated recoveries and DVD releases in recent years to the same level as Who, although of course Network DVD have been plugging away with a fair amount of 'obscure' shows.
